2018 LOTHIAN RURITAN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTIONS
A. A minimum grade point average of 2.50 is required for all scholarships.
B. All scholarships are for $1,000.00 in 2 $ 500.00 installments, unless otherwise specified.
C. In all cases, preference will be given to those students with the strongest record of community service.
D. A copy of the collegiate semester grade report is required prior to release of funds for each subsequent semester.
1. ANNE ARUNDEL COMMUNITY COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP - TWO YEAR SCHOLARSHIP Open only to freshman students entering Anne Arundel Community College.
2. J. J. BERNARD & VICKIE LERCH SCHOLARSHIP I* Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college, or trade school in any field of study.
3. J. J. BERNARD & VICKIE LERCH SCHOLARSHIP II* Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college, or trade school in any field of study.
4. FRIENDS OF THE LOTHIAN RURITAN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP* Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college or trade school in any field of study.
5. JOHN K. DORR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP* Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college or trade school in any field of study. Preference will be given to a (a) member or (b) a relative of a member of the Lothian Ruritan Club or (c) an applicant involved in any Lothian Ruritan Club sponsored activity.
6. ERIC THIEL SCHOLARSHIP Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college or trade school in any field of study.
7. ROCKY LANE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR NURSING OR HEALTH SCIENCES Open only to students pursuing an education in nursing or a health-related field.
8. FRANCIS R. & CLARA L. GOUIN SCHOLARSHIP Open only to students majoring in horticulture, plant science, landscape architecture or environmental science.
9. LOIS L. NUTWELL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Open to students entering any 4-year college, community college or trade school. Preference will be given to the student with the strongest record of local community service who has declared a major in any of the following fields of study: journalism, American history, archeology or graphic arts.
10. DEALE BOY SCOUT TROOP # 741 SCHOLARSHIP Eligibility for this scholarship is restricted to Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts currently enrolled in any troop in southern Anne Arundel county or northern Calvert county. Applicants in any field of study may apply.
* Note: Scholarships 2, 3, 4 and 5 above also promptly require additional information from the selected individual for submission to Ruritan National Foundation by April 1, 2018.
