We want to award a onetime award of $500 to 2 senior high school students that are Calvert County, MD residents who will be attending College in the 2018 fall semester. The scholarship check will be made payable to the school after your letter of acceptance from the school and student ID number have been received by the scholarship committee. No funds will be released without this information. If awardees do not meet these requirements by September 30, 2018 the funds will revert to the Scholarship fund for the next year’s awardees. Applications will be available with the guidance counselors in January 2018. You may also request an application by emailing or mail odomscholarship@hotmail.com. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Deadline for submission is April 1, 2018. The decisions will be made by
May 31, 2018. Notifications will be made via email and mail. Decisions are final and not subject to an appeal. The selection is competitive; not all applicants will be selected as a recipient.
We will have a team review the applications in the below 4 categories. Selection will be determined by May 31, 2018.
Scoring 25% each category
*250 word minimum essay about themselves. The essay can include but is not limited to financial need, leadership skills, achievements in particular fields, work history and experience, obstacles they have overcome, community involvement, and other topics they want to share.
*2 letters of recommendation from non-family members that do not exceed 1 page.
*Provide academic transcripts and or report card providing current GPA (minimum 3.0 required at the time of application)
*List all Community Service, Church, Extra-Curricular Activities, employment/internships and athletics.
