Optimist Club Scholarship

The three are
      1)      Calvert Optimist-Knapp Scholarship - $8,000 with payments of $2,000 for up to four-years of continuing education.

     2)      Calvert Optimist Scholarship - $6,000 with payments of $1,500 for up to four-years of continuing education.
     

The basic requirements for submission are
 1)the student be a Calvert County High School graduate; 2)submission of a completed Application
 3) an essay on the students educational goals. 

Applications are reviewed by a committee of Club members and successful recipients are notified by mail.

-Copy of students transcript

Procedures:
-Applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting of the Optimist Club of Calvert.
-Applicants will be judged as to qualities of character, citizenship and scholastic ability. Other major considerations will include financial need and thoughtfulness in completing the application form.

-Submit application and transcript to:

Two Year or Tech School Scholarship!

The Optimist Club of Calvert offers an annual one time vocation award of $3,000 for students residing in Calvert County. This award must be used for advanced training at any trade or technical school or community college that is approved by the Optimist Club. Only two year colleges are permitted.

Requirements:
-Must reside in Calvert County and be in the current graduating class of Calvert County high school.
-Children, step-children and grand children of members of Optimist club are not eligible.
-The vocational award can only be used at two year programs

• Open to students under the age of 18 as of October 1, 2017
• No minimum age or grade level to participate!
• Essays must be 700-800 words
• Club- and District-level awards
• District First Place Winner will be awarded $2,500 scholarship
