Joseph J. Fox, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
The Joseph J. Fox, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to three graduates of any Maryland high school who plan to major in education at an accredited college or university.  Recipients of this scholarship must meet the specific criteria for each scholarship.
Scholarship Criteria
1.       Applicant must verify graduation from a Maryland high school.
2.      Applicant must be accepted and enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at an accredited college or university.
3.      Applicant must major in Education with the intent to pursue teaching as a career.
4.      Applicant must have maintained an overall GPA of 3.2 or better in high school and submit a high school transcript with the application.
5.      Applicant must document current or previous community service in education-related activities or organizations/clubs, etc. 
6.      Applicant must submit a completed application that follows the scholarship rubric
7.      Applicant must apply by the scholarship deadline.
Each of the three scholarships are awarded for $2,000.00.  Selected recipients will receive the scholarship funding upon presentation of a copy of a college or university tuition bill.

Bachelor Mitsui Bussan Scholarship Program in Japan for Indonesia

The MITSUI-BUSSAN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM FOR INDONESIA was established in Tokyo, Japan, in 1992 as a non-profit foundation under the approval of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (formerly called the Ministry of Education) of Japan based upon a fund prepared by Mitsui & Co., Ltd. The Program aims to encourage Indonesian students who wish to study at universities in Japan and obtain a bachelor's degree thereby. 
The objective of the Program is to support and assist the selected students (i.e., grantees) so that; Firstly, the grantees could learn about and become intimate with Japanese culture and customs. Secondly, the grantees could develop an international sensibility through daily life in Japan.
Consequently, the grantees would be able to make their best efforts in their respective fields so as to contribute to the development of Indonesia after finishing their studies in Japan, calling upon their experiences of living and studying in Japan. Therefore, the grantees who have completed their studies in Japan under the Program would be requested to make their utmost effort to materialize the Program’s objectives, however, the grantees will be entirely free from any other obligations and duties.

Requirements:
  • Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Indonesia.
  • Applicants must be less than twenty (20) years of age as of April 1st, 2018 and unmarried.
  • The grantees must remain single (not married) during the tenure of their scholarship period.
  • Applicants must have completed SMA (Senior High School) of IPA or IPS course with marks of at least eighty (80) or higher on their school records for the following subjects, of the last two consecutive semesters namely, “the 1st semester of the 3rd year and the 2nd semester of the 2nd year” but if not available, “the 1st and 2nd semesters of the 2nd year”, during SMA study period as per the chart below. Whilst the students from SMK (Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan/ Vocational school) are not entitled to apply for this program.
  • Applicants must be willing to study the Japanese language and to receive university education in the Japanese language in Japan. Whilst each level of the JLPT scores (N1 - N5) shall be counted as a premium for the selection.
  • Applicants must be healthy, both mentally and physically, and have no infectious diseases.

Tenure of Scholarship:
Grantees are tenable for five years and six months (5.5 years) from October 2018 until March 2024, i.e.
  • Japanese language study: 1.5 years (18 months) at Tokyo Japanese Language Education Center of Independent Administrative Institution, Japan Student Services Organization, Tokyo, Japa
  • University study: 4.0 years (48 months)
  • Total: 5.5 years (66 months)

  • The sum of 145,000 Japanese yen per month would be given to each grantee during the tenure of the scholarship.
  • Transportation Charge
  • Transportation from Indonesia to Japan
  • The sum of 50,000 Japanese yen would be given to each grantee upon arrival in Japan.
  • School Fees
  • Fees for the entrance examination and tuition at the Japanese Language Center as well as at universities would be borne by the Program.
  • Accommodations, Meals, Local Transportation and Other Costs and Expenses:
  • For the first one and half years during the period of study of the Japanese language, grantees 
  • The Program shall prepare life insurance, aviation insurance, and accident insurance for the grantees during the period of Scholarship. (National health insurance premium in Japan shall be borne by the grantees.)

  • copies of photograph (portrait) 4 cm x 3 cm taken within the past 6 months.
  • copy of certified school records for all terms and semesters of 1st , 2nd and 3rd school years issued by SMA. If the school record for the 2nd semester of the 3rd year has not been issued yet, certified school records until the 1st semester of the 3rd year should be submitted.
  • 1 copy of the result of Nilai Ujian Akhir Nasional, if it had already been issued.
  • 1 copy of recommendation letter issued by the principal of the SMA in English.
  • Registration number of each applicant should be indicated clearly in typewriting or clear handwriting on the envelope enclosing the necessary documents to be submitted to the Program, hence the envelope without the registration number is not accepted. If there is any deficiency to the application documents, the application is not accepted.

The Program introduced an e-application system for the registration and installed its own website owing to substantially increased number of applicants received in the previous years.

Healthcare Scholarship

HealthcareSystemCareersEDU.org Academic Scholarship

The team of professionals at HealthcareSystemCareersEDU.org places great value on healthcare education. In an effort to show just how much we believe in healthcare education, we now offer bi-annual scholarships to deserving students who are currently enrolled in a healthcare degree or certificate program. Our Healthcare Academic Scholarship is based on merit and is open to students who are currently enrolled at a campus. Students who are currently part of an online program are also eligible to receive this scholarship. One condition remains for all applicants: the healthcare related program must be deemed a qualified program. The scholarship is also open to healthcare students at all different stages of the education process. Other requirements are that students must be currently enrolled and only one application per student will be allowed over the course of a 12-month period.

Scholarship Application Deadlines

Students have up until May 1st to apply for the Spring Healthcare Academic Scholarship. The deadline for the Fall scholarship is November 1st. Students may not apply each season and will only be eligible to submit one application every 12 months.

Official Rules

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be enrolled in a healthcare related program. Applications must be submitted to HealthcareSystemCareersEDU.org. Candidates must follow the application instructions, which include the submission of an original essay on the assigned topic. Essays must be a minimum of 800 words in length, but must not exceed 1000 words. Correct formatting is expected on all essays that are submitted.
Applications that contain any type of false information will be disqualified immediately. Plagiarism found in the essay portion will also disqualify an applicant. Each essay is expected to be the original work of the applicant. Applicants will be asked to submit an essay that showcases their ability to fully answer the essay question and provide an ample amount of reasoning and insight.

Selection Criteria

HealthcareSystemCareersEDU.org has formed a scholarship selection committee that will review and consider each application. Each applicant will be measured by past academic performance, extracurricular activities, history of employment, and the individual essay. Here is a detailed look at the criteria that will be used to select the scholarship winner.
  • Completed Registration – Each part of this process must be followed accordingly
  • Completed Essay – Essays should be formatted and well-written
  • Work History and Activities – These should be legitimate experiences
  • GPA (min 3.2 on a 4.0 scale) – The value of academic performance is emphasized

The Government of Brunei Scholarship to Foreign Students Tenable in Brunie Darussalam


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was formally established upon the resumption of Brunei Darussalam's full independence on 1 January 1984. The process of setting up the Ministry, however, began way back in early 1979 with the establishment of the Diplomatic Service Department. Its main function was to gradually take over the responsibility of handling Brunei Darussalam's external affairs. Brunei Darussalam then has three missions overseas, namely Brunei Darussalam Commission in Kuala Lumpur, London and Singapore. All these missions were upgraded to High Commission in 1984.
 On 1st August 2005, the International Relations and Trade Department of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources was merged into the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. With that, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is known as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade is pleased to invite applications for the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship under the above Scholarship Award Scheme for the 2018/2019 academic session.

VU Amsterdam Fellowship Programme For International Students

The Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (abbreviated as VU, "Free University Amsterdam") is a university in Amsterdam, Netherlands, founded in 1880. The VU is one of two large, publicly funded research universities in the city, the other being the University of Amsterdam (UvA).The literal translation of the Dutch name Vrije Universiteit is "Free University". There are varieties of scholarship programmes exist for international Master’s students. The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) is one of scholarship offered by VU Amsterdam. VUFP offers talented prospective international students the unique opportunity to pursue a Master’s degree at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. VU Amsterdam has committed to providing approximately 1 million euro towards attracting highly motivated and excellent students.

Requirement:
The VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) is a Merit scholarship programme for strongly motivated students with excellent study results. Eligible candidates must be able to prove their academic excellence, and they must be admitted to an English-taught Master’s degree at VU Amsterdam. Students with the Dutch nationality and/or a Dutch degree (given that the Dutch degree is used for admission) are not eligible for admission. Students following a one-year Master’s programme may not apply for the VUFP scholarship for a second year.

Scholarships Amounts:
The VUFP scholarship is a tuition fee waiver. VUFP scholarship does not provide any additional allowance towards study or living costs.

Macquarie University Scholarship For Undergraduate/Postgraduate



Macquarie University is a public research university based in Sydney, Australia, in the suburb of Macquarie Park. Founded in 1964 by the New South Wales Government, it was the third university to be established in the metropolitan area of Sydney. Established as a verdant university, Macquarie has five faculties, as well as the Macquarie University Hospital and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management, which are located on the university's main campus in suburban Sydney.
The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship provides a partial tuition fee scholarship for outstanding students to study at Macquarie University North Ryde campus. It has been designed to recognise academic excellence and provide financial assistance for international students. The Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship is highly competitive and will be awarded progressively through the year to future applicants to Macquarie University based on academic merit.

Requirement:
  • Have citizenship of a country other than ASEAN, an European country, Mongolia, Australia or New Zealand.
  • Have met the University's academic and English requirements for the course to be considered for a scholarship (must hold a full offer of admission for North Ryde by the application deadline).
  • Have achieved a minimum GPA of 5.0 out of 7.0 for Postgraduate applications and minimum requirement of an ATAR equivalent of 90 out of 100 for Undergraduate applications.

Aga Khan International Scholarship Programme For Master/ PhD Degree


The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) is a private, not-for-profit international development agency, which was founded in 1967 by Prince Shah Al Hussaini, Aga Khan IV. AKF seeks to provide long-term solutions to problems of poverty, hunger, illiteracy and ill health in the poorest parts of South and Central Asia, Eastern and Western Africa, and the Middle East. The Foundation's activities often reinforce the work of other sister agencies within the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). While these agencies are guided by different mandates pertaining to their respective fields of expertise (the environment, culture, microfinance, health, education, architecture, rural development), their activities are often coordinated with one another in order to "multiply" the overall effect that the Network has in any given place or community.
The Aga Khan Foundation is the principal grant-making agency for social development within the Aga Khan Development Network. Grants are normally given to local organizations interested in testing new solutions, in learning from experience and in being agents of lasting change. These organizations must share the Foundation's and Aga Khan Development Network's goals in their specific areas of focus..

Requirements:
  • The Foundation accepts applications from nationals of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique. In France, Portugal, UK, USA and Canada, applications are accepted from those who are originally from one of the above developing countries, are interested in development-related studies and who have no other means of financing their education.
  • Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.
  • Consistently excellent academic records, 
  • Genuine financial need, 
  • Admission to a highly reputable university or programme of study and 
  • Relevance of the field of study to AKDN’s focus areas. Candidates are also evaluated on demonstrating thoughtful and coherent educational and career plans, their extra-curricular interests and achievements, potential to achieve their goals and likelihood to succeed in a foreign academic environment. Applicants are expected to have some years of work experience in their field of interest.

Benefits:
  • The Foundation assists students with tuition fees and living expenses only. 
  • Funding for PhD programmes is only provided for the first two years of study, after which the students are expected to find alternative sources of assistance. 

Loan Conditions:
Half of the scholarship amount is considered as a loan, which must be reimbursed with an annual service charge of 5%. A guarantor is required to co-sign the loan agreement. The payback period is five years, starting six months after the study period funded by the Aga Khan Foundation.

Students may obtain application forms as of January 1st each year from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services / Boards in their countries of current residence. Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained. They should not be sent to Geneva.

  • The amount of the scholarship can be up to 10.000 Euro for 1 year. The scholarship will always cover the tuition fee for 1 year, the insurance and a basic health insurance coverage. The amount awarded for living expenses can vary. 
  • The scholarship for the second master year will only be continued on the condition that the student had outstanding results the first master year.
